SS Communications was resurrected appropriately just after Easter in 2013 when a number of personal and professional stars seemed to align. Originally started as a New Year’s resolution on Jan. 1, 2004. Owner/president Sande Snead had been a freelance writer for more than a decade, but after amassing skills in public relations, marketing, special events and media relations, she took her business to the next level and opened this full-service public relations and marketing firm.
Sande has more than 25 years of experience in public relations, marketing and advertising. She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mass communications and has won more than 50 state and national writing awards. She has been published in books, has written magazine and newspaper columns and pitched stories that have landed on Good Morning America, CBS Evening News and the Washington Post. She has run a marathon and accomplished many other physical feats far beyond her skill level.
In 2012, she was named the Virginia Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year.
Perhaps most remarkably, she is known for setting goals for herself and her clients and for reaching them. What are your goals for this year? Get more clients? Get national media coverage? Develop a website? Amp your social media presence?
